Photo Restoration
I’ve recently had a couple of interesting photo restoration jobs that I thought I’d share with you. The first was an older lady whose only photo of her and her sadly departed husband as a young couple had become damaged. I almost had to pry the photo from her fingers she was so hesitant to give it up. When I gave her the restored version she cried.
The second was way more of an undertaking.
I was presented with an old cardboard box full of broken pieces of glass. Turns out these were glass negatives from an old chap in the Bungay area of Suffolk. I managed to ‘develop’ them with a little help from Photoshop. I kept the restoration to a minimum for authenticity (also it would have been a huge undertaking to restore some of them). Some I even had to piece together from several broken shards. It was fascinating seeing these negatives come to life. They will be being presented as an exhibition sometime soon. Watch this space.
If you have any old or damaged photos that you would like made new then drop me a line. Price is on application depending on the extent of the damage.
